It is with bittersweet emotions that we say goodbye to The Neighbourhood Group Foundation.
Since its inception, the Foundation has been instrumental in implementing new approaches to critical issues facing the most vulnerable people in our community, including supporting refugee families, reaching out to isolated youth, supporting grassroots organizations, and exploring new models of financial literacy.
The Foundation supported the vital work of The Neighbourhood Group Community Services to address poverty and inequity by increasing awareness, engagement and donations. Together, we helped more than 47,000 people across Toronto communities in 2022-2023.
Closing the Foundation helps to streamline our services and fundraising processes. But the goals and activities of the Foundation will not be lost: its mandate and effectiveness will be wrapped into The Neighbourhood Group’s operations to ensure the needs of the community are still being met.
Thank you to our dedicated Foundation Board Members: Levi Cooperman, Kevin Fisher, Bob Gore, Amana Manori, Nero Persaud, Jennifer Rae, and Philip Unrau. Their compassion, insight and experience was essential to the success of the Foundation. And a special thanks to Mary Christie and Jane Lennox-King for their unwavering support during their long tenure on the Board!
