What a Day! The Neighbourhood Group Community Services walked and ran to pass our goal at the 2023 Toronto Challenge!

The 30th anniversary of the Toronto Challenge took place on June 11, 2023 at Nathan Phillips Square, and TNG was out in full force with over 100 participants in attendance, including 60 seniors coming via school bus!

When the dust had settled from everyone pounding the pavement and walking or running the 1K or 5K courses individually, or as part of one of our fantastic teams, we surpassed our goal of $100,000, raising $101,135!

Well done TNGCS family!

Joining the Challenge bolsters our seniors' programs and services to help people live independently, safely, and with dignity in our supportive housing locations and across the community.

And whether participants were onsite taking the “Challenge”, or just getting donations, we couldn't have done it without people's generous commitment and enthusiastic support!

Some of our participants who weren't able to join us in person even did their own thing. Our very own Board member, Bob Gore, rode 260 km on his bike and raised over $20,000!

Congratulations to our top fundraising teams, the 340 College Joyful Seniors and Mighty Meals on Wheelers!

Thank you to all the employees, their families and friends and business acquaintances, our Board team and our corporate sponsors for being there when vulnerable seniors needed us most. And a special thank you to our matching donors: Akler Browning, Alterna Savings, Care Management Inc., Canada Life, Erion Insurance Group and WeirFoulds LLP!

Getting back out in person again with friends, family and colleagues again was a pleasure! See you at the Challenge in 2024!
