After-School Programs
Our After-School Programs provide your children with cool things to do and a place where they can make new friends. Our spaces are safe and inclusive and kids can get creative doing arts & crafts, participate in sports and games, get help with their homework, and so much more. Best of all, it's FREE!

If you’re having trouble in school because of conflict, try Game Changers. Our peer workers know first-hand the trouble you’re having, and how to help you deal with it.

Higher State of Mind
If you’re having trouble with alcohol and drugs, or struggling with mental health issues, you're not alone. Our free Higher State of Mind program gives people like you strategies and a peer network to help you cope.

Integrated Model of Care
When you’re having trouble coping, it’s hard finding someone who can help. At our Integrated Model of Care health clinic, our nurse, psychologist and social worker help you understand what’s going on, and how you can take the next steps to better health.

Legacy - Youth Violence Prevention Program
If you're struggling with violence in your life or community, our Legacy program can help. Whatever the source - gang, street, relationship, sexual, cyber or family, we'll give you strategies to cope.

North York Youth Drop-in
New to Canada and between 14 to 18 years old? Our North York Youth Drop-in Drop-in offers peer-led programs that help you build connections in your community. You'll make new friends, improve your leadership skills, and have the opportunity to earn your volunteer hours for school.

Step Up
Looking for a place to make new friends, join fun activities, and maybe learn a little about yourself? Try Step Up! It's a youth-led, safe, welcoming space where young men in the Regent Park, Moss Park, St. Jamestown, and Esplanade communities come together and gain valuable mentorship.

Steps2Success
For many young people in our communities, the dangers of violence, drugs and poverty makes graduating from high school a pipe dream. Steps2Success helps you gain your high school credits in a safe, inclusive space outside of school.

Summer Camps
If your children are looking for something to do during the summer, then check out our summer camps! Young people between ages 6 and 12 get the chance to make new friends, try new things, and most of all, have fun! And we've got opportunities for teens to help them gain valuable leadership skills and volunteer opportunities.

Tutoring
Having trouble in school? Need a hand to figure out math, or improve your writing? Whether you're in grade one or grade twelve, our volunteer tutors are here to help you. We'll match you with a qualified, volunteer tutor to help you in the subjects you need, with extra help during exams and EQAO. Best of all, it's all free!

Come join us for fun and friendship at our Weekend Drop-In program for youth. Our safe, inclusive space gives you a place to hang out, play sports and games, cook, and lots more fun stuff. And If you need help with school or someone to talk to, we’re here to help.

Youth Arcade Drop-in
It’s always happening at the Youth Arcade Drop-in. Relax in the comfy lounge, play pool or foosball, hop on a computer, munch some tasty snacks, join a workshop and chat with friends. And staff mentors are always there to help you with any problems you might have. The Youth Arcade has it all!

Growing up in today's world is tough. There's pressure from school, friends, family and the community itself. Joining Youth Awoken can guide you through that. Together with people just like you, you'll learn more about yourself, and how to deal with everything life throws at you, all while doing fun stuff like cooking and sports.

Making mistakes doesn’t have to be the end. When you get in trouble with the police, our staff can help you and your family go through the court process or even avoid it completely.

If you need help and don’t know where to turn, our Youth Outreach Workers can help. They guide you every step of the way and connect you with the resources you need to solve the problem. Best of all, they meet with you wherever you want.

Children & Youth FAQs

Do you have after-school programs?

We have three after-school drop-in programs: Kick Start, Kidz Klub and the Youth Arcade. We also have art programs at our Youth Arcade Studio, weekend programs and summer camps.
Can you help with school?
We have a tutoring program that can help with your school work, and GameChangers and Steps 2 Success if you're having problems dealing with other things that are affecting you at school. And our staff are always there to listen if you need help.
Can you help me/my child with the police or the courts?

Our Youth Justice programs have been helping young people in trouble with the justice system for years and our Game Changers program can help if you or your child is getting in trouble in school.
Can you help with drugs or mental health issues?
We have two on-site clinics, programs like Higher State of Mind, and Youth Outreach Workers who will meet you where and when you want. If you need someone to talk to, our staff are there to listen, and help you with making the right decisions when you need.
Can I volunteer at TNG?
There are lots of ways you can help. And those hours count as school volunteer hours needed to graduate from high school.

We have ten provincially-licensed Child Care Centres in Toronto. Check out our centres to find the one that works for you.
