  • Annual Fund Officer - Contract
    Reporting to the Director of Community Engagement and Major Gifts, the Annual Fund Officer is responsible for implementing specific areas of the Annual Fund Campaign, including cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of gifts ranging from $1,000 to $25,000 for foundations, donor-advised funds, faith communities and service clubs.   • Case Manager, Toronto Complex Behaviour Support Team (3 Positions)

The Case Manager, Toronto Complex Behaviour Support Team role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Case Manager who’s ready to make a lasting impact in Toronto’s shelter system. This unique position combines intensive case management with frontline training and system change, supporting both individuals experiencing homelessness and the shelter staff who walk alongside them. You’ll provide one-to-one support to adults living with complex needs—including mental health, substance use, trauma, and histories of service restrictions—helping them achieve self-identified goals and access vital health and social services. Working alongside the Case Manager and the Inner-City Health Associate’s (ICHA) primary care doctor and psychiatrist, clients in this program will have excess to essential healthcare resources. At the same time, you’ll be empowering shelter teams with restorative justice tools and non-violent crisis intervention skills, building safer, stronger, and more inclusive communities. As part of Urban Health and Homelessness Services (UHHS) and in collaboration with the City of Toronto’s Shelter and Support Services (TSSS) under the Shelter Safety Action Plan (SSAP), you’ll be at the cutting edge of innovation in housing, harm reduction, and restorative practice.   • Community Mediation Worker - Contract
    Our Community Mediation Services is a free, confidential and voluntary community mediation service that supports individuals, groups and communities during conflict and provides a collaborative approach to conflict resolution. Our service provides volunteer mediators who facilitate discussions between parties, assisting them to reach a mutually agreeable solution. The Case Worker supports the operations of our community mediation and restorative justice services, in collaboration with the Team Lead, volunteer mediators, and student and interns. This role will work one day a week in a Scarborough location and a late afternoon/early evening shift to meet the program’s needs.

  • Controller
    The Controller reports directly to the CFO at the Neighbourhood Group Community Services (TNGCS) and is responsible for managing all financial operations including overseeing accounting processes, payroll & benefits, internal controls and financial reporting activities. The Controller works closely with the CFO to respond to concerns from the senior leadership team to ensure that program areas meet financial reporting requirements set out by Funders. The incumbent will also produce all financial reporting that goes to the Board. The Controller will drive continuous improvement of financial processes through automation and will play a critical role in shaping the future of TNGCS financial operations.

  • Corner Drop-In Relief
    The Corner Drop-in is a busy, dynamic program that serves ~ 200 participants each day. We provide daytime shelter, nutritious hot food, primary health care services from on-site nurses, doctors and psychiatrists, information and help finding affordable housing, mental health support, voluntary financial trusteeship, substance use counselling, workshops and activities. Relief staff will work as a member of the Drop-In team to provide an enriched drop-in setting for homeless and socially isolated adults. Working alongside staff, volunteers and peer workers, relief staff will ensure a safe and welcoming environment. This position works on an on-call, as-needed basis to replace door and/or floor staff in drop in. Relief staff will help maintain order and safety, participate in crisis intervention, assist drop-in members with accessing services, and make referrals.

  • Doorperson- Corner Drop-in (Winter Support) - Part-time - Contract
    The Corner Drop-in is a busy, dynamic program that serves over 200 participants each day. We provide daytime shelter, nutritious hot food, primary health care services from on-site nurses, doctors and psychiatrists, information and help finding affordable housing, mental health support, voluntary financial trusteeship, substance use counselling, workshops and activities. The Part-time Doorperson works as a member of the Drop-In team to provide an enriched drop-in setting for homeless and socially isolated adults, welcomes visitors into the drop-in and Trustee program, and ensures that areas around the property are clean, safe and free of loitering. The Doorperson will staff the front door during the hours the Drop-in and Trustee programs are open and monitor the building activity.

  • Program Assistant – Crystal Meth Project - Contract
    The Neighbourhood Group leads the “Crystal Meth Project”, a unique program to provide support for people who use crystal meth and other stimulants. The Project challenges stigma by connecting community members to one another, providing peer training opportunities and improving the sector’s compassion for people who use these types of substances. One of the Crystal Meth Project’s major offerings is “Centre Ice” an afternoon drop-in program where we offer harm reduction and hygiene supplies, access to laundry, emergency clothing items, snacks, community-building events, referrals, on-site physician and peer support. The Program Assistant supports the facilitation of Centre Ice, as well as other programs 260 Augusta, by building rapport, connecting clients to supportive services, facilitating groups, hosting community events, de-escalating conflicts that arise and assisting with overdose/over-amping responses as needed.

    The Relief Overdose Prevention Worker provides coverage for the Kensington Market Overdose Prevention Site (KMOPS) and the Mobile Overdose Prevention Program within The Neighbourhood Group’s Urban Health & Homelessness Services team. This role supports people who use drugs, many experiencing homelessness or at high risk of overdose, by providing overdose prevention and response, provide information and connection to supplies, crisis intervention, and referrals to health, housing, and income supports. Relief staff may be scheduled at the fixed site or with the Mobile team in nearby parks and encampments, with a focus on creating safer spaces, building relationships, and supporting access to care.

  • Team Lead - SafeSpot - Winter Support - Contract (4 Positions)
    SafeSpot (formerly Shelter-Hotel Overdose Prevention Project-SHOPP) offers overdose prevention services for shelter residents who use drugs, opioid overdose reversal, creation of overdose prevention safety plans, distribution of harm reduction tools, and training with residents, shelter and security staff as necessary. The Team Lead–SafeSpot will work collaboratively with the Program Manager, Peer Program: Sheltering Sites Overdose Prevention Services, shelter-operators, and other partner agencies to establish and support peer driven overdose prevention initiatives at identified sheltering sites.   • Youth Justice Worker (4 Positions)
    This position provides services to youth who have come into contact with the youth criminal justice system, providing intake, support, and the implementation of appropriate sanctions and measures, and the fulfilment of legislated reporting requirements. The worker will facilitate court sanctioned or mandated workshops, providing advocacy and/or court supports to youth/parents and supporting wider violence prevention initiatives. They will work within a dynamic team of youth justice workers to decrease violent crime among youth and support those youth at most risk of violence.
