Volunteers from Ironbridge Equity packing up gifts for people at our Corner Drop-in

You can be part of a great team!

Volunteers are the heart and soul of our work. Last year, over 600 dedicated volunteers delivered more than 31,000 hours of essential support to our community! Thank you!

Whether it’s helping at our Corner Drop-in and Food Bank, preparing meals at Community Dinner, giving time as a Board member, delivering services virtually like community mediation, community outreach, tutoring, mentoring, income tax clinics, yoga and seniors social programs, or stepping up to make phone calls to isolated seniors, our volunteers make a huge difference in the lives of vulnerable people.

Current Opportunities

Is your team looking for a great way to give back?

Our Corporate Volunteer program gives your team the opportunity to address critical issues affecting people in Toronto: poverty, homelessness, mental health, unemployment, social isolation, substance abuse, conflict resolution, violence, youth alienation, and the settlement of newcomers.

When you volunteer with TNG Community Services you:

    • Deepen connections between employees – regardless of whether they normally work in the office, at home or in a hybrid format – helping to enhance team morale and foster a shared sense of purpose.

    • Demonstrate corporate commitment to social responsibility and community impact.

    • Contribute to long-term positive change in your community.

    Team Building with Purpose

A variety of volunteer experiences are available. We can tailor the experience to match your team’s skills, interests, schedule and budget.

    Special Event
Your team can host a unique event for one of our programs. Examples include:

    • an outdoor dinner event for residents at one of our eight affordable housing apartment
    • a pizza party for a youth drop-in program
    • an excursion to a museum for seniors enrolled in a day program

Your corporate contribution (beginning at $1,500) will cover all costs associated with the event.

    Group Activity
A variety of hands-on activities are available including:

    • shifts at the Teesdale Community Food bank
    • garden maintenance at our affordable housing locations
    • assisting with painting and minor repairs at program locations
    • participating in speed mentoring workshops to help people that are underemployed
    • conversations with newcomers to Canada so they can build their confidence

The price for 1-10 volunteers is $1,500; for 11-20 volunteers it is $3,000.

    Tours
If your team is interested in learning more about the issues facing people in Toronto, consider a tour. We can take you on a tour of a neighbourhood and provide detailed information about TNG programs and services. Or take our deluxe bus tour where you will visit numerous neighbourhoods and have the opportunity to speak to a variety of experts, including people with lived experience.

Tour costs begin at $1,500 for 1-10 people.

    Kit Packing

If you're looking for an engaging corporate/group volunteering or team-building activity, try The Neighbourhood Group Community Services Kits for a Cause Care Kit Program!

You and your team can help assemble care kits for people who are homeless and truly in need. The Care Kit Program was developed specifically by Kits for a Cause to accommodate groups of all sizes. No matter how many people come, you are making a positive impact in our community. Your contribution will cover all costs associated with preparing and distribution of the kits.
