The Trustee Hub is an innovative community initiative that supports grassroots groups working to remove systemic barriers faced by underserved populations, such as youth, newcomers and people living in racialized communities. By sharing our experience and expertise as a trustee, we help these organizations achieve their goals, while fulfilling our own mission to improve the lives of the people in our communities, and the communities themselves.

Trusteeship Application

The Trustee Hub uses a three-pronged approach to help grassroots organizations:

Funding
Many grassroots initiatives struggle to access traditional grants because they lack charitable status or formal infrastructure. By acting as a trustee, we manage more than two million dollars for these groups, enabling them to improve their financial capability without sacrificing their autonomy or community-centered focus.

Administration
The Neighbourhood Group has a long history of providing programs for people in need. The foundation for managing those services lies in our administrative experience. As a trustee, we provide access to that expertise so grassroots groups can focus on the activities that bring strength to their communities.

Customized Support and Mentorship
Beyond funding and administration, improving sustainability of grassroots group is essential. To support them, we provide assistance with other organizational tasks like reporting, evaluation, and strategy.
