The Beach Citizen of the Year Award, founded and presented by Community Centre 55, the Beaches Lions Club, and Beach Metro Community News, has been honouring local heroes since 2001. Each recipient embodies the spirit of giving and selflessness, contributing significantly to the betterment of the Beach community, and that is especially true of Bob. 

Currently the Chair of the Neighbourhood Link Homes Board of Directors, Bob spent more than twenty years as Treasurer of The Neighbourhood Group’s Board of Directors, and of Neighbourhood Link’s Board before the merger, and served on the Board of the TNG Foundation. His contribution to The Neighbourhood Group doesn’t stop there – Bob and his wife Mary have personally raised more than $20,000 each year to support vulnerable seniors in our community. In the words of President and CEO, Bill Sinclair, “TNGCS is what it is today in no small part because of Bob’s contributions”. Bob has also raised money for Michael Garron Hospital in East York, and run tax clinics at Community Centre 55.

At work, Bob is a founding partner of Robert Gore & Associates Chartered Professional Accountants, a successful and staple business in the beaches since 1989, as well as a founding director and treasurer of the Beaches Business Improvement Area (BIA).
