People who use substances and live in shelters are at high-risk for overdose. Our SafeSpot program saves lives by training shelter residents to prevent overdoses through safety planning, spotting (peer-witnessed injections), and distribution of harm reduction supplies. Trained peers not only save lives, they gain paid work experience and build a social network with staff and other shelter residents. Many of our SafeSpot services operate at our modular supportive housing locations.
