In good hands

Imagine you’re a parent with two children, braving the morning rush-hour to drop them off at childcare, scrambling to get to work on time, then scurrying back to pick them up in time before the centre closes. In truth, it doesn’t take much to imagine. Just ask Alison, who lives it every day.

“The drop-off at two different childcares added at least an hour to my morning commute. And one closed early so I’d rush from work to get there in time. My older child was already at the Winchester Junior and Senior Public School so when the chance came to sign up my younger son Lyle, I took it.

“For Lyle, the Centre has been so helpful. Staff are so encouraging, patient and understanding, especially considering he is potty training. And they model positive social skills to help him navigate relationships with his peers. He gets space to figure things out on his own, or they gently step in as needed. Lyle is happy to arrive at school and sometimes he’s having so much fun at the end of the day, he doesn’t want to leave.

“For me, having the additional time during the day is so valuable. And I have a high level of trust knowing that Lyle is in good hands now at Winchester, and when he starts kindergarten at the school next year.”
