Denzel found long-term stability at the Elm Grove residence
The housing affordability crisis in Toronto shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, 40% of renters in the city live in unaffordable housing. At The Neighbourhood Group Community Services, we strive to help residents struggling to pay rent. To bolster that effort, we have partnered with Community Land Trusts, non-profit organizations that secure land for long-term affordable housing through community ownership and decision-making, while providing neighbourhood improvements.
Our latest partnership, with the Parkdale Neighbourhood Land Trust, includes property management of an apartment building on Elm Grove Avenue. Our role at Elm Grove protects housing affordability by preventing evictions among low-income tenants and those living on fixed incomes. More than that, timely repairs and regular maintenance improve the health and safety of residents like Denzel.
