YouthWorks Opportunities

Update!

The new YWO Group is now in session!

Thank you to all who applied. We will be opening up registration again in December 2026 for a group that will start at our Bathurst office in February 2027.

If you are both eligible and interested, please email the Team Lead to be put on a waiting list. When recruitment begins, you will be invited to a future information session and given a chance to register.

If you’re out of school, out of work and looking to gain new work experience, YouthWorks Opportunities is for you. This 18-week program gives you the professional skills you need to find a job, a 12-week job placement, and life skills to support you throughout your journey.

Information Session

You must attend one information session to register for YouthWorks Opportunities. Zoom sessions will be held in December. Please contact us to be put on the information session waiting list.

Eligibility

You are eligible if:

  • You are between the ages of 15 -30 years old when the program starts, and able to show valid identification with proof of your age.

  • You are both out of work and out of school and not planning to go to school in in the fall of 2026 / Winter of 2027.

  • You are eligible to work in Canada and have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and able to show proof.

  • You are a Canadian citizen, a Permanent Resident, a protected person or a convention refugee and able to show proof of your immigration status.

  • You attend one of the information sessions before registering for YouthWorks Opportunities.

Duration
18 weeks (not consecutive): 6 weeks training plus access to a 12-week work opportunity after training is completed

When you join YouthWorks Opportunities, you get certifications in:

  • Conflict Resolution and Communication

  • Standard First Aid/CPR Level C-AED

  • Customer Service Excellence (otec.org)
